I have had something through the door from them saying that the terms and conditions have changed on my account.
Clause 20 Charitable Assignment New Yorkshire Building Society members agree to assign any windfqall payment arising during the first five years as a member to the Yorkshire Building Society Charitable Foundation. this does not apply if you were a Barnsley Building Society member and subject to a charitable assignment before 31 Dec 2008 or already a Yorkshire Building Society member and subject to a charitable assignment; or have been either a BBS or YBS member for more than five years continuously to the date of this letter. (5th Oct)
Can someone go through the ramifications/benefits of immediately closing the account etc. |

| Probably time to close Barnsley and not worry about it - I've been hanging on to see if there's any payout from recovery of Icelandic assets - but had enough of waiting |

if you've got yorkshire I can't see the point having Barnsley, from a membership point of view from 31/12/08 they are indistinguishable

Carpetmuncher,
You still around!
Are any of the other old-timers left?
Surely there's no mileage left in the bagging business ??

I had a big birthday last week so old timer is a sensitive subject. |

Congrats 'muncher!
Is Geodie still around?
