Beale To Retire From The Nationwide Building Society

Graham Beale announces he will be retiring from the Nationwide Building Society next year. When he goes he will have spent 9 years as Chief Executive and 13 years in total as a board member. His salary is currently about £2.3 million or possibly more.

He is happy to point out "we will do the right thing for our members" which involves the laudable increase in profits (by 32%) but looking at my account I don't see a decent rate of interest being paid out...

Perhaps Beale will take a salary SACRIFICE in his final year. To give a true "mutual benefit" to the real owners of the building society?

Over three-and-a-quarter million pounds in a year. Wow!

Not surprising they had to reduce rates on the Loyalty Saver.

Shovelling money from Loyal Savers to Loyal Executives!

I don't see any reason anyone needs to leave more than a standard £100 bag in here.

I don't see any deals worth bothering with. £2.5k at 5% for the first year only is not much to sing about.
