They send you both forms as you have to set up the basic account and the plus account at the same time.

There was no mention of the £30 on the welcome letter. The lady in the branch suggested I ring up incase it is not credited once the account has been finalised.

    8) I have my rpoints for opening this account.

I'm still having teething problems with the account though.

In several places in the new account literature I was encouraged to get the internet banking* bit up and running so I registered!
It went pear shaped as at the time I didn't have any account history that they could use to verify me
Now several weeks later, I have to visit my local branch to verify who I am, but it's never open...

    * - it is a requirement for the Classic Plus account to logon 6 times a quarter as well

I'm in the dark at present. I've received a cheque book & paying-in book. And I have my rpoints!

That's it. Or is it? Who knows! I've had nothing along the lines of a letter stating 'Welcome to LloydsTSB' or similar, or an opening statement, or (despite two visits to branch to verify my identity & copy/endorse documents etc) another plastic card for the collection! Am I supposed to be paying in the £2K/month yet? Beats me! Is it even worth it anymore -- do we get the new lower interest rate now or the old allegedly-guaranteed rate?

Looked briefly at the Internet banking registration but it seems to need some detail that I don't have, so not much chance of that.

Guess I'll just wait and wonder for a while longer!

    You're not wrong!

I'm now morbidly curious whether it'll take them three months to fully open a bank account!

    Or six?

    Ten perhaps?

    I finally got on line.
I soon found there was a 'upgrade to 4.5% classic plus" link.
'Thought that was what I had.
Anyone know if it's just a link that is there even if you do have a plus account? ta

Ha ha. Dunno mate, I've just been invited to make my third visit to a branch to prove my identity, before they'll let me online.

Got everything else sorted though, I think. Did you receive the £30 bonus? I don't seem to have it.

    Gr8! Not seen mine yet.
If you don't mind me asking, did you just put the £30 code in and hope, or did you follow up at the local branch? Did you try for £30 AND rpoints?
