Neteller Shares - Onwards and Upwards

    http://www.rpoints.com/forum/viewtop...er=asc&start=0

As has been suggested by Garrett@Rpoints I am shifting this thread over to Finance where its sits more happily than in Casino Crazy.

Although some are sceptical of charts, there has been no new news on Neteller at all. Just the clearance of the stale bulls who went in between the placing price of 280 in November and the old high of 360 - the latter being the ones who were pleased to scuttle off with their money back when it got to that level. Once they were cleared out there was nothing to stop this share. It was only 8 days ago I pointed out the chart breakout at 366, and they are now 440 and going like a train.

Another interesting snippet which just goes to show how dominant Neteller are:

    From Bluff Magazine

    Latest Poker Poll
How do you fund your online poker account?

    NETeller 45%
    Firepay 15%
    Credit Card 16%
    Wire Transfer 1%
    Western Union 3%
    Instacash 1%
    Central Coin 0%
    eChecks (iGM-Pay) 12%
    Citadel Commerce 2%
    Other 5%

So we have a company in a dominant position in a fast growing market (on line gaming). What more can you ask for?

I'm not inv here, but thought it'd be of interest :-

    Durlacher:
    NETeller + Sportingbet 447p
To Poker or not to poker

    £536.1m Speciality Finance NLR

The decision by Party Poker, the world’s largest on-line poker operator, to seek a UK listing underlines the continued heady growth in the sector. SuperBowl plus a glorious NFL season that saw many of the favourites win, will ensure that Q1 2005 has been a strong quarter.

We recently upgraded our short term price target for NETeller to 500p.

However, positive industry news supports a more aggressive target.

The current rating of just 16.0 PER to December 2005 is in our view, too low for a business that is effectively a low risk, non-site specific geographically diverse way of playing on-line gambling. By the end of the year we would expect the rating to exceed 25PER – or a price target of 700p. Even at 700p NETeller would enter the 2006 year on a prospective PER of just 12.7.

Our short term price target is thus raised to 700p and longer term to 1200p.

No doubt UK investors will continue to doubt the rates of growth – but they should note simple credit card processing companies in the USA command prospective ratings around 35 times – NETeller is cheap by comparison.

Our estimates do not reflect any additional income NETeller can drive from its recent award of a UK e- Money license (such as direct advertising, loans, mortgages or credit cards) from its existing customer base or the significant upside from the long anticipated entry into Asia. We have not reduced our forecast 10% tax charge despite the Isle of Man, their domicile location, announcing taxation falling from 10% to 0%.

Finally, we met Sportingbet yesterday. We were impressed by their market position and clear continued growth. Numbers in the market appear to be too low. Q1 profits of £5m were followed by £15m which will only be complemented by their Q3 which is normally their strongest period. We believe Sportingbet’s PBT will be around £52m for the year, well above the house forecast. Next year
looks set to show significant growth with forecasts around £80m to £85m looking possible. BUY

Purely on chart break out grounds this one is a stunner. I posted the chart showing the breakout on 19th January at 366p. Look whats happened since then :P

    19th January

    31st January

I don't think we can expect it to continue at this pace (can hope though!), but I would expect this to be a lot higher at the end of the year.

Thats a difficult one. I have my own views on what many shares should be trading at - unfortunately the market makes up its own mind regardless of what I think. I try to buy shares which are very obviously cheap given the price, earnings, story etc and then hope the market recognises their worth.

However, on Neteller the latest forecast is for earnings per share of 16p in the year to last December and 28.2p in the current year. The latter puts it on a prospective Price Earnings Ratio of 18.2 at the current £5.14.

Now to my mind this company has a lot going for it -
    - solid business model
    - dominant position.
    - fast earnings growth (76% forecast this year)
    - potential moves to replicate the model in Europe
    - potential moves to replicate the model in Asia

Of course, its all a matter of market sentiment. When Neteller floated earlier last year on-line gambling was viewed as a bit shady and the shares were not highly rated. However, its increasingly becoming flavour of the month and being recognised as a high growth area with, not only Neteller, but also Sportingbet and Betonline doing well even though the latter blotted its copybook with a profits warning before Xmas. I would think this could support a propective PE of 30 given the prospects which would imply a price of somewhat north of £8.

The great thing about a share where earnings are growing as fast as this one is that next year we could be looking at a forecast of 40p for 2006 which drops the PER right back again.

You may have in the short term. Nothing keeps growing up in a straight line and some consolidation and retrenchment is likely after the recent 40% move up. So if you buy them, buy them on the basis thats its a good long term investment and try (impossible I know) not to follow the share price on a day by day or minute by minute basis. The only thing that is clear is that they are very likely to be significantly higher in a years time.

One thing that could really push them up in the short term is the announcement of a deal in Asia or Europe.

As always, do your own research

    Regards

    OK,

You've convinced me ... going into the market with my "millions" to take a controlling stake in this one

Jokes aside, think I'll dip my toe in the water, like the product etc

    Question for pentangle pls....

When are the results for the y/e 31st Dec'04 due to be announced ? ... must be sometime soon, I'd think. Expecting a dividend to be declared ?

Its not been announced, but I would expect results early in March.

Not sure about the divi, but they were sitting on $122m cash at 30/6/04 and have made a shed load of money since then so it would certainly not break the bank.

If you are going for these please do remember what I said about not taking a very short term view - they have had a pretty amazing couple of weeks!
