Getting my Stereo speakeers & subwoofer to work on my Dell Inspiron 15R

I have Typhoon speakers and subwoofer from my previous desktop. The speakers connect to the subwoofer and this has a cable with a jack connection which fits the laptop headphone socket. When I plug this in, I get one speaker and the subwoofer producing sound. Is there a way to get both speakers AND subwoofer playing?

Are you sure that you've pushed the jack in fully?

Maybe you need to adjust the balance or volume levels using your computer?

It might be that your subwoofer is non-standard and is using the connection usually intended for the other main speaker.
