Question Will SATA-III drive work with SATA-II board?

This may be a daft question, but I don't know the answer.

I've got a laptop that's a few years old and takes maybe 5 minutes to boot (WIN XP). I'm thinking of putting in a new SSD to give it a kick. Something like this:

Now, I think my motherboard supports SATA-II. Is it worth getting an SSD that supports SATA-III? Will I get the fast speeds described in the spec, or will it only go as fast as SATA-II allows (ie. I'd be wasting my money)? If the latter, would it be more sensible to get a SATA-II SSD?

It'll work but might not be faster. I guess that depends on whether the bottleneck with your current drive is its physical speed or the interface speed - but I don't know which is more likely!
