Can't quite get my head around this. Have taken the obvious close match and done "what if 2" for pennies profit on £15 stake. Can't lose. However, should the player (one of theirs) score first, and then Utd go on not to qualify there will be a £15 bonus (what if lay wins). If they do go on to qualify there will be a £90 bonus (double odds to 13.0, giving £90 + £90 enhanced payout). I guess I could increase lay on Utd to get to £3.50ish no matter what, with reduced bonus if they do qualify. Might go and do that actually!

EDIT: No, I can't do that extra lay! Or can I? At the moment I am doing as straight what if 2. If anyone can understand blades method and wants to try again at explaining please feel free!!

The trouble I see from Blades description is the FGS bet winning and then Utd not qualifying. Therefore the FGS will be paid out at normal odds, not double. So you can't simply use double odds in the calculations, as you may not get double odds.

clever move by laddies - inlikely to lock in a decent profit i reckon . in the end i got fgs at 7/7 but could only stake £8 for reasons we have mentioned. nice payout if it does come off though .
