Does the cashback also apply to existing HSBC current account customers? As I have online banking it asks me to login to that, then takes me to a form with just an apply button (as they have all my details).

The HSBC rate is rubish compared to the A&L 12% regular saver a/c, available to all new customers when linked to Premier current a/c with £500 min investment per month.

I cancelled my previous A&L accounts in Feb08
Am now able to open new ones and take advantage of new investor rates.

I set up a standing order for £500 from my bank to A&L Premier current
Set up standing order next day to transfer £250 to A&L reg savings a/c
Set up standing order also next day from A&L Premier a/c back to bank

I think the blurb is a bit out of date now.
    The rate is now
"Earn up to 1.25% AER (1.25% gross including bonus interest".
