How Much Did You Save On Coupons In 2006?

I thought some members might be interested in a bit of fun - telling others what we saved in coupons this year. When the amounts are known, it might persuade more members to join us in what is a profitable and tax-free sideline.

I keep a record of what coupons we redeem so have a fairly accurate idea of the 2006 total: just over £1070. If you don't keep records, just have a stab at a reasonable figure.

I'd like to thank all the posters in this forum for alerting me to new coupons over the year.

so, i've always wanted to know, all these coupons that pop up on the forums, do you actually have to buy the item, or does the coupon just give you the money off of your total bill, without buying the product?

In the main, I use the coupons at Tesco who will allow you to redeem them even if you don't purchase the product, as long as they stock it. Asda has a similar policy.

We've been doing this for over 20 years and rarely have a problem. It's often down to the local manager's discretion whether they accept coupons or not and we've been very fortunate with our managers over the years. They occasionally change the rules: only one of each type of coupon can be used at a time and only X number of coupons per transaction etc. We keep an eye out for the youngsters and more laid back operators who tend to let you get more coupons through than you should.

Have a read of the Coupon Stickies for more tips.

TESCO leatherhead are tight wads - you need to be charming to get any voucher accepted - they are ALL scanned

I have added mine on the basis of

supermarket vouchers (not high value white/black goods)
I have included my TESCO clubcard vouchers
I have included 'give back benefit vouchers' - frequent buyer loyalty vouchers etc

IMHO this is a great post as it promotes the value of rpoints to newbies where they feel it fastes - in their pockets

My lucky Duck coupon alone saved me £366 on a telly. Highest value coupon I've ever used!

I'd hazard a guess at over £100 but not sure how much more than that. We regularly save money doing our weekly grocery shop with coupons.
May the force be with you...
