We want to be neutral and start with a clean slate - no bans or judgments based on previous performances/posts. I can't see any breach of forum rules in Phil's recent posts and see no reason to delete him. Infact he asked a very valid question re members' details.Originally Posted by mel78

You might prefer to quietly accept his solicitation to remove himself rather than publicly support him!
The rest of us certainly would!
You have a point. I have stayed quiet on many discussions and will continue to do so to avoid inflamming anything
I was just trying to illustrate the point that it will be a clean slate on the new site and we won't be judgmental. I haven't had any communications with him, haven't met him etc, so no special reason to "support" him except respect as a member of this forum.

I too would like further clarity how I can close my account and how I can be assured that my details are removed in a legit way as per data protection act.
I do appreciate that databases are being sold by other marketing companies, however they normally do not hold bankdetails of individuals.
It does give me reason for concern that personal data will potentially / accidentally fall in wrong hands, especially with a relaunch of the site and most likely external / 3rd parties working on programming, updates, marketing etc (recent Play incident springs to mind).
To state that members have a choice when the site is re-launched is not as per data protection act, a member should have a choice at any given moment to have their details removed and information on how this can be done should be provided accordingly.
Please let me know by reply how I proceed to have my details removed as per immediate.
When we get the site relaunched, any member who wants to close their account can submit a request. If anyone wants their details removed and account closed in the meantime, please send me a pm, I will get this done.
We have always, and will always comply with data protection act. From what I know, all personal details like bank details are encrypted, so no one can actually see them - only at the point of the datafile being uploaded to BACS system it gets decrypted - with visibility only to a senior member of staff who is thoroughly vetted. Moreover, we don't use any 3rd parties for programming, updation etc - all the work is being done by our internal staff.
We built and operate loyalty and benefits portals for major banks and FTSE100 companies and handle data of more than 1.5 million UK customers. The level of data and information security, server security and compliance standards we maintain is much higher than any cashback/loyalty company that I know of.

I did ask to have all my details removed at the end of March by PM to Janine; to my surprise I can still log in and my details are still available, furthermore everything seems to have moved to new servers etc, so I am extremely disappointed in the so-called new customer service of the new owners. In my opinion this is a serious issue and potentially in breach of the data protection act.
olavs, we just finished upgrading everything and moving servers. Your details will be removed asap (latest by Monday). We are seeking legal advise every step of the way to ensure that everything happens as per the data protection act and other legislations.

As olavs has done, could I request that all my details (including bank details) are deleted from your systems. I also request that this includes ALL posts made by myself on the Rpoints and Cashback Kings forums.
Thank you
Sure Brucey, I have already sent you a pm asking for clarifications, once I know, I will get all your personal details deleted.
Just for the information of all other members, we have already deleted ALL the members' bank details. This may inconvenience some members who want to use the cashback service again, but at least they can ensure that they put their updated details in.
