NEW Rpoints re-launch: Rpoints under new management

Rpoints, some associated brands and websites have been bought by our company - V A C Media.

At the moment, we are in the process of taking over the operations, code, database etc. We will be working on a relaunch of the cashback service from next week and expect to have the site operational in March.

We will be making a more announcements soon, but I thought I would say hi and brief our members.

Who is behind new Rpoints

Established 6 years ago, V A C Media is a multi-award winning company which operates more than 200 loyalty/reward/cashback programs of its own and for other companies.

We power the cashback/reward portals of banks, government departments, media organisations and more than 30 FTSE 100 companies.
We continue to meet the high standards in security, finance, accounting and operational procedures of these organisations. So you can be assured that new Rpoints will be run with the same standards.

Our company has 67 employees and we are a financially sound organisation with healthy profits from our other operations. This means we can invest in Rpoints brands and subsidise the operational costs of Rpoints.

Old Rpoints

Just to make discussions easier, let me call the Rpoints before we bought the site as "Old Rpoints" and after we bought the site as "New Rpoints"

As you may be aware, Rpoints Ltd, the previous company went into liquidation. We believe the creditors (including members who are owed money) have been contacted by the liquidators regarding this.

Some points to note

Our company had no ownership or control of the Old Rpoints or related brands before this purchase.

We did not recieve any money from the liquidator or affiliate networks or Rpoints Ltd for the money owed to creditors (including members). Therefore we did not inherit/buy and are not responsible for any liabilities of the previous business.

None of the old shareholders/directors/employees of Old Rpoints are involved with, own or "behind" the New Rpoints

Our members can be assured that the site is in the right hands, with a company who has staffing levels and other resources to invest in the service.

New Rpoints

Planned re-launch

We are working on improving the platform and relaunching the service very soon. While New Rpoints will not be liable for and unable to pay any cashback amounts owed by Old Rpoints, we are working on plans to compensate our supporting members in various ways. These will be announced before the re-launch.

New Ring-fencing promise

We believe the one of main reason members lost out from the previous ownership is that the money owed to members was not ring-fenced.

One of the key features of the New Rpoints will be that our Ring-fencing promise. We are not aware of other cashback companies who do this.

Forums

Our aim is to continue to run the forums (with some new upgrades, design etc in the pipeline). It will only be possible with help and support of members like you.

As you may be aware, in the recent months, there was a lot of mud-slinging and posts on the forum about various office holders of the previous company. Due to change of ownership and legal implications, our lawyers have advised us to remove any posts which do not befit our ethics or professional standards. If you spot any of these posts, please do let us know.

We would appreciate if any existing/old moderators want to continue to contribute and support our community. Please do send me a pm.

We need your help

Apart from the investments we have made so far, we are going to be investing substantially in re-building and running this service. We can only make this a success with your support.

All members who support our re-launch whether it is by feedback, suggestions or by other means will not only be appreciated, but rewarded financially as appropriate.

Will the new Rpoints keep the 1p + Cashin level ? or will it be what I believe are V A C Media other Cashback sites minimum Cashin level of 25.00+?

@bristolleedsfan we do have cashback sites with various redemption levels, some with no minimum balance. Depends on the model.

We are analysing different options, with an aim to keep as many things similiar as possible to Old Rpoints regarding the model.

If Rpoints members prefer to keep the cashin levels low we can definitely consider that.

Rpoints can operate on the same model, with our other brands complementing people wanting a different model.

Moral is: keep an eye on the forum and read between the lines of all cashback sites you belong to.

I would go even further to say ensure you use a site which ring-fences members' money.

If you have a high payout level then a lot of people will not be clicking on the dailies and will there fore not bother coming here for the bigger purchases.

i think it will be best for now to have as low cash out as is possible to get people to want to use the site again and to gain trust in you again
i know you say that no one from before is involved etc etc things are going to be different etc etc but to be honest people can say what they like and actions speak louder than words

Yes, the cashout level will be as low as possible. Regarding trust, we are one of the most trusted companies in the industry, trusted by major organisations to handle their members' money. With the ring-fencing promise, it should bring more comfort to members.
