Very tempted by this, but also by the cheaper Fujitsu in the other section even though that's only a Celeron.
It might be an idea with this offer to opt for the single memory module instead of the default two to make upgrading easier. |

I think a dual core wins every time over a Celeron, unless budget is really tight. Don't forget if you go for single memory module, you lose the advantage of dual-channel memory (hence why the upgrade to two is free ) _________________ Massive Clearance @ Viking Direct

I can only £411 for this, has the deal gone or am I doing something wrong?

Firstly, your welcome. As for the upgrades - I always try to add what I would buy myself IE: Fair value for the system in question. Obviously others here will have different needs, this is why I label the upgrades 'to consider'. However, I will briefly advise on the upgrades you questioned:-
1. The upgrade on the RAM is worthwhile due to the fact that you will be freeing up an extra slot for future upgrades at no extra cost. Oh, and don't worry too much about loosing 'dual channel' mode for memory - in my experience there's very little difference between single and dual.
2. The Logitech V220 Cordless Notebook Mouse @ £8.25 makes good sense as it's a comfortable mouse to use, it's also about £15 elsewhere!
3. Vista Premium over Home basic. Well, this option is more personal to your own use, the laptop will run Premium fine due mainly to the inclusion of 2GB of memory but also the core 2 duo processor will help things run a little smoother. The other thing to consider is Premium has specific features for laptops (IE: Windows mobility center) that isn't included with home basic. You can see the exact differences in Vista versions HERE _________________ Ideal XMAS Gifts! Click
