you only need to pay in £500 per month into your current premier to keep the ISA.
You can transfer the money back out again if you don't want to use the current account. |

Does the £500 you pay in have to be your salary? Or, could I continue to use my Halifax current account for my salary and simply transfer £500 per month into the A&L account? |

| It doesn't have to be your salary. You can just set up a standing order to transfer it in and then another SO to transfer it back out again. |

| The paying in £500 is a term of the current account itself. Reading through the terms and conditions for the premier ISA, you do have to pay in your "main income" every month and if you don't they reserve the right to reduce the interest paid to the direct ISA level (i.e. from 10% to 5% or so). |

i phoned them up before i opened my account to query that.
They confirmed that i could set up a standing order from my bank account to go into the A&L account and from there i could then transfer my money back if i wanted. |

Other half has one of these accounts - just for holiday insurance - she pays in £500 per month by DD from her other bank account - no problem. |
