Doesnt your sky dish need a dual lnb for these boxes? Or is that just with Sky's HD box?

They also state "upscale to 1080i" not 1080p?

These boxes are not PVRs unlike Sky's HD box which has Sky+ functionality so a single LNB will be fine. I think 1080i is the standard for HD - it certainly is for Sky's HD box.

25cm x 16cm. Tiny! Might be good for a small bedroom, or wall mounted tv.

Dish installation going for £80 on argos too. Give it a month or so and i suspect PVRs for it to come out.

If you want a list of channels, see here:
http://www.lyngsat.com/28east.html
You will need to point your satellite dish towards Astra at 28.2°E to get those channels. You should also be able to receive channels broadcast from Eurobird (28.5°E).

Humax are developing an HD PVR which should be out a month or so after Freesat launch.

If you have Sky that dish will do. If not it would be 60cm for Zone 1 (England and Wales) and 80cn for Zone 2 (Scotland and Northern Ireland)

Got a question on Freesat boxes....

The place i am renting has a connection to Sky satellite dish ( think it is shared between 3 or 4 houses) The cable is definately connected to the sat dish, but as i am not with SKY, t'other end of cable is sitting unconected behind my TV ( has a coax connection like an aeriel cable)

If i bought a freesat box and connected it to said cable and to my TV, would i be able to pick up channels free of charge ( presumably channel choice would depend on sat dish angle etc )

I didnt sign up with SKY ( was after the £26 per month package) cos after the girl went thru all the spiel on the phone for about 20 mins, she then said that i would have to pay £17 per month extra cos local transmitter not upgraded ?!?!

So reduced to 4 channels at moment as cant even get Chan 5 here in the West Country ! ooooarrr

As long as the dish is pointing towards 28E and is all wired up you can just attach the wire to the back of the box and watch the free channels. Warning though that five is not available on freesat yet.

Thanks PDJ Smile

No idea what angle the dish is set to, would be standard SKY setting ( whatever that is ? ) presumably.
