No more rpoints at John Lewis
According to an announcement posted on PTS

JOHN LEWIS DIRECT ENDS RELATIONSHIP WITH ‘CASHBACK’ WEBSITES
FRIDAY, APRIL 18 2008
RELEASED ON BEHALF OF JOHN LEWIS DIRECT VIA TRADEDOUBLER
John Lewis has a long tradition of treating all customers equally, regardless of circumstance or channel. The business model of ‘cash back’ sites is at odds with this ethos, as they offer a permanent discount to online customer that is not available to department store customers.
John Lewis Direct will therefore be removing ‘cash back’ websites from its affiliate programmes; effective midnight on Sunday 18th May 2008. No other affiliates on the programme are affected. John Lewis Direct would like to thank all those ‘cash back’ affiliates for their hard work promoting johnlewis .com to their members since joining the programme. |
[MOD EDIT (midnightz): promoter link removed as this is not an offer] _________________ 2000 points when you switch to British Gas online tariffs for gas and electricity even for existing customers |

Been fed up with J Lewis for a while now after being told by staff they could not "price match" another local store straight away stating that their own team must visit the other store to check stock. Asking how long this would take their staff to check the price they said 4/5 working days, I said but possible by then would be out of stock anyway their reply, "I could pay full price for it from J Lewis hoping it was in stock and they would refund any difference"
The door was my reply, and I've never been in since and I've spent lots over the years. |

I don't see them offering £10 off £50 vouchers instore to new customers so their logic is a bit skewed. |

Ah, but you can use them in store and on the internet, so it is equal treatment. |

My sister and her husband work for Waitrose so loss of sales affects their bonus. But is theirs not mine so I would say go where you get the best value and best customer treatment.
Why not a little business? Tell them you can get it for £x plus y% discount so you could get it for £z cheaper so will they match the price. You have a good chance of them doing so, especially if you talk to the boss. And you get the goods you want at the same price without wondering if the cashback will be paid and it is nearby if you have a problem. |

Actually my front door is closer to me than a 2 hour drive to John Lewis is. |

I think he meant the local independent was nearby not John Lewis. |

It's not an offer is it, you can only use the voucher in store not online. _________________ Immorals09
