I'm always worried in offers like this, that the cancellation won't be processed in time, and I'd be stuck with a few issues at the full price. I'd be interested to read member's experiences when it comes to the full price issues.

Just cancel the Direct Debit; with Internet or telephone banking this is usually processed the same day or within 24 hours (however you should cancel at least 2-3 working days before the payment is due if you don't wish to be charged).
