I bought one of these last week and I have to say it was rubbish. I wanted to get some screws out of a gate post but I've ended up with a set of ruined, but still fimly embedded, screws. I'll have to drill them out as I would ordinarily have done.

NOt exactly a new idea - I would always use an "easy out" like this:

Much better for doing this sort of job, you screw it into the head of the screw and it catches it, eventually bringing it out.
