Good film. Fantasy kids film, but entertaining for adults, and the best film of that style I've seen for some time (since I was a kid).

Defo agree; it's a classic fairytale, reminds me of all those fantasty films fromt he 80s, such as Princess Bride, Labyrinth, Neverending Story, etc.

Don't understand why there isn't a 2-disc special edition though. Sad

I was left distinctly underwhelmed by this film. It just didn't grab me - I think the casting had something to do with it. IMO Robert DeNiro didn't fit with the movie.

DeNiro and Gervais did stand out a bit as 'stars' rather than characters in a film.

At first I thought DeNiro was terrrible, but as his character developed, I got more into him.
