John Lewis has a long tradition of treating all customers equally, regardless of circumstance or channel. The business model of ‘cash back’ sites is at odds with this ethos, as they offer a permanent discount to online customer that is not available to department store customers.
John Lewis Direct will therefore be removing ‘cash back’ websites from its affiliate programmes; effective midnight on Sunday 18th May 2008. No other affiliates on the programme are affected. John Lewis Direct would like to thank all those ‘cash back’ affiliates for their hard work promoting johnlewis .com to their members since joining the programme.
