Wonder Stuff CDs - £2.99 delivered
It's 20 years since the first Wonder Stuff Album, The Eight Legged Groove Machine and to celebrate the Stuffies are playing a couple of gigs in London and Birmingham. But if you can't get to the gigs, what better time to replace your scratchy vinyl with a sparkly CD copy of their best albums?
These are the "remastered" versions with a handful of bonus tracks (originally B sides).
If you're under 20 you're probably wondering what the heck the fuss is all about. In brief, this was one of the bands who spearheaded the "indie"* music scene, that eventually became Brit Pop and then spawned Oasis who made it mainstream. But mainly, they were damn good and wrote refreshingly honest songs like Give Give Give me More More More and It's Your Money I'm After, Baby ("It ain't your heart, it's your bank I wanna break"). Although you probably remember them best for Dizzy with Vic Reeves.
Anyway, £3 for some great albums can't be bad. And it makes a mockery of the band's (misspelt) dedication on the original CD release:
"Enjoy your CD. You payed enough for it."
* Despite being signed to a non-independent major label. Meanwhile, Kylie and Jason were signed to an independent label. Go figure.
